One Hand Held the Gun, Another Guided the Bullet

Twenty-five years later the photos of Mehmet Ali Agca's attempt on the life of Pope John Paul II still have a profound effect on Catholics around the world.

Today, on the anniversary, there was a special remembrance in St. Peter's Square. A marble plaque commemorating the day was placed at the spot where the shooting happened.

A procession and prayer service in honor of Our Lady of Fatima was held this afternoon. This evening a fireworks display also commemorated the event. A joyous use of gunpowder.
